넷플릭스로 공개된 유유백서가 연일 인기 급상승 키워드로 부각되고 있다. 이미 유유백서는 원작 만화판은 물론 애니메이션으로도 빅 히트를 친 바가 있다. 이번에 방송된 실사판 유유백서는 만화판과 애니판보다 너무나 분량이 작다는 불평이 있을 만큼 인기를 모으고 있다. 그래서 유유백서 실사판을 무료 다시 보기할 수 있도록 소개한다.

유유백서 실사판은 국내 팬들에게는 실망으로 시작되었다 말하는 것이 사실이다. 예고편이 공개되자 매니아들의 관심은 유유백서가 자랑하는 캐릭터들의 실사 모습이 어떨까에 집중되었다. 이것은 어떤 애니든 실사화하면 발생하는 반응이자 문제거리이다. 어쨌든 실사화된 캐릭터를 보고 시청자들은 너무 큰 기대를 가지면 안돼겠다 생각하게 되었다.
It is true to say that the live-action version of Yu Yu Hakusho started off as a disappointment to domestic fans. When the trailer was released, enthusiasts’ attention focused on what Yu Yu Hakusho’s proud characters would look like in real life. This is a reaction and problem that arises when any animation is turned into live action. Anyway, after seeing the live-action version of the character, viewers thought they shouldn’t have too high expectations.
1) 유유백서는 무엇보다도 빠르고 치밀한 전개가 재미있다(Yu Yu Hakusho is, above all, fun because of its quick and detailed plot)
하지만 실제로 드라마를 보니 원작과 다른 느낌이지만 재미있다는 평이 이 사람 저 사람에게서 입에서 입으로 전해지는 것을 볼 수 있다. 오히려 원작과 애니의 분량보다 훨씬 적은 분량인 것이 오히려 불만으로 나오는 반응이다.
However, when I actually watch the drama, I can see that people are saying that it is interesting, even though it feels different from the original. Rather, the response is that they are dissatisfied with the fact that the length is much smaller than that of the original and animation.
군더더기 없는 빠른 전개는 특히 우리나라 시청자에게 크게 메리트로 작용했다 생각된다. 우리나라 드라마는 매우 빠른 전개로 유명하다. 드라마를 보는 내내 지루하다는 생각이 들지 않을 정도로 전개가 신속하게 진전된다. 그리고 전개는 마지막으로 갈수록 고양되다가 절정에 이를 때 엄청난 호기심을 일으킨채 끝나는 치밀함이 있다.
유유백서에서 바로 이것을 맛볼 수 있어 좋았다. CG가 좋고 액션이 좋아도 국내 시청자들에게는 이런 전개에서 부실하면 그저 그런 것이라 평가한다. 일본 드라마는 국내 시청자들이 좋아하는 이런 전개 방식에 그다지 능숙하지 않은 것으로 유명한데 유유백서는 달랐다.
I think the quick, uncluttered plot was a huge advantage to Korean viewers, especially. Korean dramas are famous for their very fast plot. The plot progresses quickly enough that you don’t feel bored while watching the drama. And the development is so detailed that it gets more intense toward the end and ends with a great deal of curiosity when it reaches its climax.
It was nice to be able to taste this right away at Yu Yu Hakusho. Even if the CG is good and the action is good, domestic viewers consider it to be mediocre if the plot is poor. Japanese dramas are famous for not being very good at using this type of plot development that domestic viewers like, but Yu Yu Hakusho was different.
2) 유유백서의 캐릭터 비주얼에 대해 너무 많은 기대를 하지 않는 것을 추천(I recommend not expecting too much from Yu Yu Hakusho’s character visuals.)
일본 애니메이션 중 실사화에 성공한 작품은 ‘데스노트’, ‘기생수’, ‘바람의 검심’, ‘도쿄 리벤져스’ 등을 꼽을 수 있다. 이들의 공통점은 싱크로율 100%에 가까운 캐스팅, 원작 스토리를 훼손하지 않는 충실함, 애니메이션의 우스꽝스러운 부분을 배제한 자연스러운 연출이다.
유유백서의 실사화에 대한 평가는 다양하다. 자연스럽고 퀄리티 높은 CG와 박진감 넘치는 액션으로 유유백서의 실사화를 높게 보는 견해가 있다. 하지만 나의 눈으로 보면 데스노트나 바람의 검심의 실사화와는 차별이 있다 생각한다. 그래서 실사판 유유백서를 재미있게 보려면 실사화된 캐릭터들의 비주얼에 지나치게 많은 기대를 가져서는 안된다 생각한다.
실제로 원작의 캐릭터와 비슷하게 생긴 사람이 있다 생각하는 것이 무리이다. 유유백서의 원작 캐릭터들과 같은 외모를 가진 사람이 있겠다 생각하는 것이 무리라 생각한다. 그래서 배우를 잘 선택했다 판단되는 캐릭터가 있지만 긴가 민가 하는 캐릭터도 있다. 어쨌든 원작 캐릭터와 실사 캐릭터를 모두 인정하고 보면 맘이 편하다.
우선 주인공인 우라메시 유스케는 비슷하게 보이다가 아닌 거같이 보이기도 하다. 하지만 가수이자 배우인 ‘키타무라 타쿠미’의 연기력이 든든해서 금새 무시된다. 워낙 원작의 캐릭터가 시청자들에게 강력한 인상으로 각인되었을 터라 배우를 선택할 때 감독이 얼마나 고민했을까 마음이 쓰일 정도였다. 쿠와바라 카즈마는 그럭저럭 비슷하게 보인다.

So, if you want to enjoy the live-action version of Yu Yu Hakusho, I think you shouldn’t have too many expectations about the visuals of the live-action characters.
In fact, it is unreasonable to think that there are people who look similar to the original characters. I think it is unreasonable to think that there are people who have the same appearance as the original characters of Yu Yu Hakusho. So, there are some characters that I think were well-chosen actors, but there are also some that are a bit disappointing. Anyway, I feel at ease when I recognize and see both the original and live-action characters.
First of all, the main character, Yusuke Urameshi, looks similar and sometimes looks different. However, the acting skills of singer and actor Takumi Kitamura are strong, so it is quickly ignored. The original character must have left such a strong impression on viewers that it made me wonder how much consideration the director had to put into selecting the actors. Kazuma Kuwabara looks somewhat similar.
쿠라마와 유키무라 케이코는 분위기는 비슷한데 얼굴의 외곽선이 너무 달라 어쩔 수 없을 거라는 생각이 든다.
Kurama and Keiko Yukimura have similar auras, but the outlines of their faces are so different that I think it can’t be helped.
